Emmanuel Igbinovia

Founder/CEO, MNEG

An innovator and Imperial College London graduate, he has a strong track record in technology development. As a civil engineer, he designed complex structures, including Swap-it. He founded Sitigrid, a clean tech venture that connects local energy market buyers and sellers for a net-zero economy. Emmanuel also developed Orb Connect, a last-mile broadband solution for the UK’s digital divide, aligned with the government’s levelling-up agenda. He holds an MSc in Environmental Engineering and Business Management from Imperial and credentials from Harvard and INSEAD. 

Emma Blackley

non-executive Director

Emma’s career spans the consumer industry, professional services at KPMG, and investment banking. She has worked across multiple sectors and geographies, bringing particular expertise in identifying and developing partnerships and collaborations. She joined the Moonlight Energy Board as a Non-Executive Director in July 2024 to work alongside the executive team as they build a growing ecosystem of partnerships around our Swap-it technology platform. 

Rosie Bailey

non-executive Director

With over 28 years in the B2B logistics sector, Rosie most recently served on the executive leadership team at CitySprint, a Private Equity-backed same-day delivery firm sold to DPD in 2022. As a commercial specialist, she excels in transformation and turnaround strategies that enhance sales growth, customer experience, and profitability. Rosie’s expertise encompasses onboarding acquisitions, negotiation, CRM systems, and marketing strategy in dynamic environments. Over the past decade, she has led multi-disciplinary national teams in commercial change programmes, earning multiple awards for contact centre success and ESG strategy. Rosie holds a degree in business studies and is active in two industry bodies. 

Ian Hobday

Chair

 Leads our business development strategy and VC negotiations. Ian has held a series of CEO positions in the automotive and clean energy tech sectors, with an interest in high-growth start-ups. Most notably, Ian led Liberty Electric Cars which was sold to Green Automotive in America in the first wave of EV development. He managed the acquisition of Goingreen, the largest EV retailer in Europe at the time, with over 1000 Gwizz cars on the road. Ian also led a 6-figure contract for EV development with Navistar in America and developed the next generation EV delivery van in a project with Fiat and VW. Ian is particularly skilled at turning small start-ups into scaled enterprises. 

Clive Southwell

Advisor

is the Sales Director of Enel X, responsible for developing the UK’s EV charging network. He has spent 12 years working on EVs and charging infrastructure and has been closely involved with the wider electricity infrastructure in the UK. Prior to Enel X, Clive launched the Mitsubishi i-MiEV (the first mainstream EV) in the UK, was the Group Operations Director at Liberty, responsible for UK distribution to customers including Tesco, Amey, FedEx and UPS. He is also the active Chairman of the Renewable Energy Association’s EV Charging Interoperability Committee. He has built a heavy-weight network that is of high value to MNEG, including Ofgem, the National Grid and government level. MNEG will have monthly calls with Clive to update progress on the project.

Kizito Obiakonwa

COO/VP Operations, Africa

With a strong background in engineering, Kizito has built a career focused on operational excellence, project management, and technology implementation. Before joining Moonlight Energy, he worked with Interswitch, a leading pan-African payments company, where he gained significant experience in scaling operations and driving innovative solutions across various markets. His technical expertise, combined with his strategic leadership, makes him a key asset in overseeing the successful deployment of Moonlight Energy’s solutions in Africa.
